Shihan Dave Shihan David Clare, BNMA Hons

Shihan David Clare has been involved in Martial Arts for over 30 years and is the current chairman of Traditional Karate Great Britain. In his years of training and instructing he has attained high levels of achievement in a variety of martial arts and is recognised as a 6th Degree black belt in Isami Ryu Karate Jutsu. Currently he holds 9 recognised grades of black belt (1st Dan) in different martial disciplines.

He has also trained and worked with many other instructors within the martial arts fraternity and through this has gained knowledge, experience and levels of achievement in Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan karate, Wado Ryu karate, Shukokai Karate, Kung Fu, Filipino arts and Ju Jutsu. As a long-standing member of the British National Martial Arts Association he has been part of the grading panel at the International Martial Arts awards on a number of occasions. He has represented both England and Great Britain in Freestyle karate and is a three-time recipient of National Awards and a two time recipient of International awards in recognition of his achievements. His hobbies include mountaineering and hiking along with martial arts history and traditions.
